These devices accept data input through a shielded RJ45 jack and deliver both surge-protected data and power through a shielded RJ45 output jack. They effectively supply power to remote devices via the unused Ethernet pins 4,5 (V+) and 7,8 (V-). For the “R” model, the voltage is reversed—pins 4,5 (V-) and 7,8 (V+). Furthermore, the Ethernet specification supports distances of up to 100m (328 feet), ensuring wide compatibility and versatility in various network setups.
